Marqués del Atrio presents its new Rioja Semi-Sweet Faustino Rivero Ulecia

18/05/2016 - Published on Faustino Rivero Wine

Hacienda y Viñedos Marqués del Atrio launches Semi-sweet Faustino Rivero Ulecia, a new white Rioja that is added to the comprehensive family of products from the bodegas managed by the Rivero family for five generations. This wine has been launched with the aim of fulfilling the varied demand of its consumers.

The work in the vineyard and subsequent winemaking process, led by the Chilean oenologist Rodrigo Espinosa, has resulted in a very expressive wine that presents a greenish yellow, clean, bright colour. On the nose, it is a wine with a pleasant palette of primary aromas of fresh fruit and elegant herbal notes. It is juicy, fruity on the palate with a balanced sweetness and a pleasant and persistent aftertaste. In Rodrigo Espinosa's own words, “it is a lively wine conceived to enjoy casually during a good conversation without requiring to accompany it with any food. Ideal for chatting, it is a greedy, seductive, fresh and fruity wine that preserves the typical characteristics of the Viura variety, which is typical of D.O.Ca. Rioja white wines.”

In spite of La Rioja being a small region, it has very heterogeneous soils that provide ideal conditions for an excellent viticulture and production of quality wines. The vineyards grown at an altitude between 300 and 600 metres provide Viura grapes with a great aromatic potential, producing well-structured wines with noble tannins, such as this new Semi-sweet wine.

Tasting notes

Greenish yellow, clean, bright colour wine; aromatic, the primary aromas of fresh fruit and elegant herbal notes stand out. Juicy, fruity on the palate with a balanced sweetness and a pleasant and persistent aftertaste.

Ideal to accompany all types of fresh or fried fish or seafood.  It can be enjoyed as an aperitif and with a large variety of tapas. As every young white wine, we recommend serving it before a year elapses from the moment it enters the market, and it should always be stored in a cool, dark and quiet place.
