Terroir

The Tempranillo is collected from a small plot of 17 Ha located between approximately 600 meters of altitude. This vineyard cultivated in a traditional way (glass) produces grapes of great quality and balance. The age of the vineyard is 35 years. The production is about 4 ton / Ha.

Although La Rioja is a small region, it has very heterogeneous soils, with a balanced structure, alluvial with composition of sands, silts, clays and boulders and slightly alkaline with active limestone between 7 and 15%. Little organic matter and nitrogenous substances, level of low nutritional elements and little water availability during the summer.

Vinification

Selected grapes, destemmed and partially squeezed, with a high proportion of whole berries, with a maceration time of 20-25 days, with daily overruns. Controlled fermentation: 24-28 ºC. Indigenous yeasts, contained in the grapes themselves.

14 months in American oak barrels and French oak barrels with a medium toasted, which gives a toasted touch of mocha and sweet notes of vanilla and caramel. Ageing in bottle.
